Google Meet Will Soon Have a 60-Minute Limit For Group Video Calls:
Soon, the free users of Google Meet will have a 60-minute limit for group video calls. Zoom doesn’t have such a limit, and you can join a group video call without a G Suite account. But that time limit won’t apply to Google Workspace users. In other words, everyone can join your video call. So what’s the catch? For free users, the new limit will apply to group video calls for 24 hours.
Free users of Google Meet will soon have a 60-minute time limit on group video calls:
Currently, free users of Google Meet can make unlimited group video calls for up to 24 hours. The time limit will be imposed on calls longer than 60 minutes, however, after March 31, 2021. Users can continue to make group video calls as long as there are three participants.
Google said it is working to make the feature more flexible. If a call goes over its time limit, it will be sent to the host so that they can start again. The new time limit will affect both free and paid users of Google Meet.
Free users will still be able to make one-on-one group video calls, but they’ll be limited to only 55 minutes each. After that, users will receive a notification that the call is about to end. If they wish to continue their group video calls, they can upgrade their Google accounts.
Zoom doesn’t have a time limit:
While Zoom has a 40-minute time limit for free plans, the company does not impose a time limit for paid meetings. You can start a meeting and chat for as long as you’d like, but you cannot hold continuous meetings. Unlike Google Meet, you can schedule a meeting with as few as two participants.
But if you’d like to talk for an hour or more, you’ll have to purchase a premium plan. One of the major differences between Zoom and Google Meet is that it allows you to record your meetings. You can save up to 1GB of recordings for free, but paid plans include cloud storage.
Google Meet free users can’t record meetings, but you can record a video meeting with the Essential or Business plan. You can even record your meeting and share it on Google Drive. Zoom also lets you display 49 participants on a single screen, while Google Meet can only accommodate sixteen.
G Suite users can’t watch a Google Meet video Meeting:
One of the problems with Google Meet is that you can’t invite external users to join a video meeting before the scheduled time. This means that users who are not part of your domain cannot join the meeting until 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
To make this work, you can grant external users access to your meeting. Once you grant them access, they can click a link or request to join the meeting. The number of participants in a Google Meet video meeting depends on the edition you have purchased. Basic G Suite accounts have a limit of 100 participants.
G Suite Basic and Education Fundamentals accounts are still limited to 100 participants. Business Plus and Enterprise users can host up to 250 participants. Basic G Suite users are limited to 100 participants, so if your goal is to invite more than 250 people, you’ll need to use the Education Plus or Business Plus edition.
External users can’t join a Google Meet:
To join a Google Meet meeting, you must be in the organization that organized it. This is done through a link shared with the meeting organizer. Users outside of your organization cannot join a Google Meet meeting unless they are signed in to their Google account on the same domain as the workspace.
However, you can share the link with an external user by providing a valid Gmail address. If you do not have this option, follow these steps to make the external user join your meeting. If you’re experiencing this issue, you may need to sign in to your Google account.
To do this, log in to your Google account and click on the “Sign in” button. If you’re using a school account, you may need to contact your school’s administrator to allow external users to join the meeting. If the problem persists, try joining a different meeting. After all, you’ve spent a lot of money to get that smartphone.
