If you’re considering attending an academic conference in the USA in 2022, you’ve likely already begun to research the various options available. You’re likely considering attending conferences that cover business, engineering, life sciences, law, mathematics, medicine, regional studies, and more.
If you’re unsure how to choose the best conference for your needs, here are some tips to make your search as successful as possible. A conference’s size and type are also important considerations when considering attendance costs.

If you are unable to attend the meeting in person, you can view the schedule online and participate in live and recorded versions of the sessions. ICERI2022 is an annual conference for higher education researchers, technologists, and lecturers.
The conference has become a benchmark for the field and has attracted over 800 experts from around the world to present their work and discuss teaching and learning methodologies. Attendees will learn from these leaders how to incorporate and sustain OER into their classrooms. They will also discover tools to sustain OER initiatives.

Keynote sessions:
For those unable to attend academic conferences in person, the Keynote sessions can view online. These sessions will continue to offer until June 28, when the keynote address by Dr. Anneliese Singh will release on the CAEBL’s SharePoint site. All presentations will be at least 30 minutes in length and will include time for discussion and Q&A.
In addition, the AMA will hold its Winter Academic Conference in Nashville. The APA Annual Meeting will once again feature keynote sessions at the conference. There will be at least three speakers per 80-minute session, and attendees must attend the entire session to earn CE credits.
A keynote session is a great way to kick off a conference. Despite the importance of the opening keynote, it is not the only way to draw attendees. For many scientific and technical conferences, it is the keynote speaker who will set the tone for the entire event. Keynote speakers at academic conferences are often well-known experts with widespread recognition. They can boost the overall energy and excitement of the meeting or conference.
Costs:
The cost of attending academic conferences can be prohibitive, especially for early-career academics. Travel costs, lodging, and food are all factors in the total cost, and many participants must make ends meet. Without the help of institutional support.
Even if academic conferences are a vibrant space for interdisciplinary scholarship, they can be prohibitively expensive for early-career scholars. The costs of attending such conferences may even discourage them from going at all. Although conference registration costs can be affordable for graduate students, the costs of travel can be prohibitive for many.
For international students, it may be impossible to take a job. For tenured faculty, financial support varies, but many receive institutional funding to help cover the cost of attending conferences. Graduate Assistants United, a student group, provides additional aid from dues and scholarships. However, this is not enough to cover conference costs for most participants.
